In Which Froshlings Are Stupid and Sketchy Men Invade Campus
*gritted teeth* Will...not...hurt...froshlings...
Gah!
So last night, after a wonderful round of skinnydipping in Taft with Mar and Penny, Mar and I are headed back towards our respective dorms when we encounter two very worried froshlings looking for the Cloisters. Why are they looking for the Cloisters? Because their very drunk friends thought it would be a good idea to go swimming while drunk. Wonderful. So we show the sober froshlings off to the Cloisters where they indeed find their friends. Who then think it's funny to run away. Rinse and repeat for ... I don't know ... a fucking HOUR or so! So Mar and I, who had each thought that sleep sounded like a fabulous idea instead ended up herding around these drunk froshlings who then met up with their other friends, including a bunch of men they didn't know. So we watched the lot make utter fools of themselves until they were eventually herded back into their dorms where after someone finally smashed some glasses (and yes, I do mean there was a fair amount of broken glass, mercifully not on the floor) the men got separated out from the women and everyone went to bed. Meanwhile, the friend who'd invited the boys out to begin with received a lecture on why it is a Bad Idea to let very drunk men who clearly don't come from Haverford or Swat run around on campus with even drunker girls. And then she got bitchy and defensive about it when it was pointed out to her that if we hadn't met her sober friends first, Public Safety would have been called. She kept insisting that they were her friends and they all knew each other, ignoring the fact that no one else on campus knew that. Stab. I. Ty. Death.
And while yes, we could have technically left them to fend for themselves, morally, we couldn't have.
When I said I wanted to meet this year's froshlings, this wasn't what I had in mind.
