In Which Carol Dies and Goes to Heaven
So on Friday Dana and I went into town and went food shopping, with the intention of having a picnic in the Sunken Garden. By the time we got back, the weather had significantly cooled and clouded over so the picnic was postponed to Saturday.
Except that on Saturday it rained. And when it didn't rain, it poured. And if it was neither raining nor pouring it was misty and damp. Generally no fun. So Dana and I reserved the backsmoker from 6 until 2 and had our picnic indoors, complete with a blanket on the floor. The food was quite good and we have leftovers, including French bread and Alouette-style cheese spread. *purrs* And then there was Samurai Warriors and all the prettiness thereof and watching of The Full Monty. Wow, that's a good movie. If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.
Today was sleeping and homework, except for dinner. Each Customs group has an Owl, who is a member of the faculty or staff on campus who does nice things for their Customs group. Ours is Steven, the manager of Haffner Dining. So we were invited over to his house for dinner. Wow, can he cook. The meal was amazing, including chicken curry, oven-roasted potatoes and tapioca consumme. The best part was though he served roast lamb and mint sauce. *dies and goes to heaven* So good, so good, so good. Seasoned with rosemary and just so damned delicious. He made 5-course meal of it. And we all sat around and talked for a long time and generally had a good time.
And then Kathy got lost on the way home, but oh well. And my Customs group and HA slashed Dana and me which is another story. Dear gods, I live with some crazy people.
