14:59 - 2005-03-30 Feeling the ground under my feet -- truly feeling it -- is quite interesting. The grass is still cold and if I didn't know any better, I would think there was frost hiding in the roots yet. The stuff they've put down to protect regrowth in some places around campus is poky and one bit even tried to keep one of my toes as a trophy. What's most interesting is feeling the ground change beneath me. The grass has warmed up and while it remains chill, it doesn't have the same almost crunch that it did earlier. The asphalt has warmed up and the gravely bits, instead of biting at the soles of my feet only prick lightly. Best of all, though, is the stone. Now that it's warmed up, it's absolute bliss to walk across. It gives me this grounded feeling and it's just the right amount of rough against my soles. The warmth goes into my toes and seems to manage to spread through the rest of me. I think footwear just got locked in the closet.
